Widow of Lord Kido, Suikou-in, Feeding the Fugitive Kogoro - Interesting design of the widow Suikou-in kneeling on the floor of a house with a bowl of rice in hand. The beauty looks back over her shoulder with a keen expression, her gray kimono trailing onto the floor beside her. One of the floorboards at right is lifted up as she prepares to hand the food down to the fugitive Kogoro, who is hiding below. A pair of sandals rests nearby, and towels hang on a bamboo rod below the window. Outside the window a crescent moon is barely visible in the pale blue sky in the early morning. Fine architectural detail in the setting.calligraphy painting of a horse hangs on the wall. Wonderful detail in the household setting and furnishings.
