Contemporary Sosaku Hanga Prints - Great design from a group of contemporary sosaku hanga prints. The sosaku hanga or "creative prints" movement emphasizes artists designing, carving, and printing their own images, in opposition to the traditional Japanese ukiyo-e method where works were collaboratively created by an artist, carver, printer, and publisher. These fascinating images range from traditional landscapes and natures scenes to portraits and cityscapes, from realistic depictions to more abstract, stylized images.

Each print is mounted to a cream colored sheet of paper along the top edge, and some of the backing sheets include a signature or other information. Several are numbered, limited editions (as indicated below). Some of the images are signed on the print itself.
