Samurai in a Warehouse

Comments - Handsome kabuki portrait of a samurai standing in a warehouse with large straw-wrapped bales scattered about the floor. He wears a boldly patterned blue and white kimono tucked up at the waist over a red loincloth trimmed with fringe. He grimaces as he stares over his shoulder, his hands tucked behind him. His hair is pulled back into a topknot with hair in the front tied into a bushy ponytail that sticks up. An interesting, expressive figure with fine shading in the background.

Artist - Toyokuni III/Kunisada (1786 - 1864)

Image Size - 9 1/2" x 14"

Condition - With excellent color and detail. A couple faint stains and areas of soiling in subject. Slight creasing along right-hand edge with some residue from previous adhesive along top edge. Please see photos for details. Nice overall.
