Beauty Mixing Ink, 1862 - Lovely portrait of a beauty mixing ink on an ink stone atop a fine black lacquer box. She tilts her head to the side with a slight smile, looking out of the corners of her eyes. She wears a tan outer kimono patterned with floral medallions over a pale blue under robe, her long hair flowing straight down her back, reaching the floor. She kneels beside a standing screen with a design of flowers and a lacquer frame. An attractive design with fine line work in the hair and soft shading in the background.
