Series; Female Geisha Section of the Yoshiwara Niwaka Festival

Folding Fan Seller, Round Fan Seller, Barley Pounder - Wonderful Utamaro portrait of three beauties at the Yoshiwara Niwaka Festival. Dressed in informal summer clothing, the barley pounder carries a wooden mallet, while the round fan seller carries her wares hanging from two slender bamboo poles over her shoulder. Beautiful soft color with exceptionally fine shading, and touches of delicate embossing. A lovely subject, rarely seen in reprint.

Image Size - 15" x 9 5/8" + margins as shown

Condition - With excellent color and detail as shown. Tiny loss at upper left edge in margin, repaired, blends well. Diagonal fold near left edge, now flattened, a few faint creases. Please see photos for details. Good overall.
