Theater in Saruwaka-machi - Fascinating scene inside a theater in Saruwaka-machi of an audience watching a performance of a play about the Soga Brothers. The two Soga Brothers are shown on the hanamichi at left, with the stalls below and boxes flanking the stage crowded with the heads of viewers. Onstage, Lord Suketsune is seated on a low platform at right with beauties carrying offering trays and a row of noblemen in court dress behind them. A look inside a kabuki theater, wonderfully detailed.

Condition - With excellent color and detail. A couple small stains and areas of spotting in subject. Faint rubbing throughout with some minor fraying along bottom edge. One hole and tear in subject, repaired from reverse. Light creasing along edges. Please see photos for details. Good overall.
