Groom and Samurai

Comments - Interesting kabuki triptych featuring a groom and a samurai waiting outside the home of a couple. The groom stands at left with his hand resting on the horse's neck, looking down rather angrily, a towel draped over his shoulders. The samurai in the center stares back at him with a tight-lipped frown. At right, a beauty smiles up over her shoulder at a worried-looking warrior, who holds a sword in his hand. A full moon glows in the evening sky above a stone marker with red writing on it next to a pine tree. A handsome design with soft shading in the night sky.
