Releasing a Pet Bird and Writing Poems

Comments - Attractive spring scene of a house overlooking a lovely garden. The beauty in the center has just released a pet bird from its cage, smiling over her shoulder as the bird flies off into the sky. At right, a beauty sits at a low writing desk composing poems, a brush in hand. The niche behind her holds a shelf with scrolls and stacks of books, alongside a bonsai pine tree. A blossoming plum tree frames a view of the pond, where beauties stroll about the grounds. A handsome design, nicely colored and detailed.

Artist - Nobukazu (1874 - 1944)

Image Size - 13 7/8" x 27 5/8" + margins

Condition - With excellent color and detail. Three panels, not attached at the seams and backed with thin paper. Areas of light toning along edges with a couple small stains in left and right-hand panels. Faint spotting in subject with one vertical crease running through subject of center panel. Please see photos for details. Nice overall.
