Bound Prisoner

Comments - Handsome kabuki scene of a prisoner bound with rope brought before a group of noblemen. The daimyo in the foreground glares at the captive, leaning forward aggressively. The prisoner looks up at him with a frown, his long hair flowing loose over his shoulders. A nun watches from the center, a blue cloth draped around her head. Wonderful detail in the expressive faces. An interesting perspective view of the room interior behind them.

Artist - Kunisada III (1848 - 1920)

Image Size - 14" x 28"

Condition - With excellent color and detail as shown. Three panels, not attached at the seams, backed with paper. A few small holes, repaired, blends well. Slight soiling. Please see photos for details. Good overall.
