Series; Inner Chiyoda Palace (Chiyoda no Ooku)

Playing a Poetry Card Game - Interesting triptych of the palace women sitting on the floor playing a game of cards that involves matching lines of poems, with the deck spread out before them. The older matron at far right wears glasses attached with cords around her ears. An attractive scene with Chikanobu's characteristic attention to detail and beautiful fabric patterns and colors. Fine embossing in the white kimono trim and the woman's white hair. A charming design.

Image Size - 28" x 14"
