Boating - Lovely triptych of beauties enjoying a ride on pleasure boat to view the cherry blossoms in spring. One woman stands in the prow, one hand on the roof of the cabin to keep her balance as the boat moves forward through the calm water. She wears an exquisite kimono patterned with colorful iris and flowing streams. A young girl seated at the railing gestures to her companions, pointing out a special sight. A terrific composition, the scene framed by a cherry tree growing from a cliff at right. Beautiful detail in the sumptuous fabrics with embossing in the white kimono collars. A fine choice for display.

Artist - Chikanobu (1838 - 1912)

Image Size - 28" x 14"

Condition - With excellent color and detail. Three separate panels, backed with old paper. Some rubbing, soiling and toning at edges. A few light spots in subject as shown. Please see photos for details. Good overall.
