Summer: Cooling Off between the Bridges, 1843 -1847 - Attractive triptych of beauties cooling off in boats on the river. At left, a woman stands in the back of a boat, shielding her eyes with her hand as she scans the horizon, a dotted towel draped over her shoulder. The beauty in the center smiles back at her while at right, a woman enjoys a snack of edamame or boiled soybeans as she leans against the roof of the cabin, her boat shelter beneath the tall pilings of a bridge. A handsome summer scene, nicely detailed.

Artist - Kuniyoshi (1797 - 1861)

Image Size - 13 1/2" x 28 3/8"

Condition - With excellent color and detail as shown. Three panels, attached at the seams, backed with paper. Small loss at upper right edge of right panel, a few wormholes and small holes, repaired with backing. Rubbing, slight soiling, a few creases. Please see photos for details.
