Spring Scenery: Melody of a Musical Performance

Comments - Lovely triptych depicting a Meiji royal couple enjoying a musical concert. The pair sits on a platform at left as women in elegant kimono perform on a variety of instruments, including flutes, drums, a sho or reed pipe, and a one stringed zither. The room overlooks a lovely spring garden with cranes along the bank of a stream and a rushing waterfall in the center. Blossoming cherry trees dot the grounds. An attractive design with vibrant color and wonderful detail, including embossing in the white kimono trim and touches of burnishing.

Condition - With excellent color and detail. Three separate panels. Some rubbing and soiling at edges. A couple light creases.
