The Daimyo and Escorts Assemble to Hear the Shogun's Speech - Wonderful panoramic view of a long procession of feudal lords approaching Chiyoda Palace for the annual New Year's Day greeting of the Tokugawa Shogun. A fantastic image showing samurai marching solemnly towards the stone wall of the castle, carrying standards and gifts in large wooden crates. Beautifully detailed with fine cloth embossing in the white robes and touches of burnishing. An excellent choice for collectors interested in traditional activities during the shogun's reign.
