Beauty on a Spring Evening

Comments - Attractive portrait of a tall, slender beauty enjoying an evening stroll in spring. She smiles as she looks back over her shoulder, lifting the hem of her robe as she walks. She wears a tan kimono bordered with faintly embossed ivy over a delicately patterned rose colored under robe. Her hair is pulled back into a smooth bun, adorned with a comb and tortoiseshell hairpins. Blossoming plum trees rise above a fence and row of bushes against the night sky, with a small shrine beneath a thatched roof at right. A lovely image, softly colored and shaded.

Artist - Toyokuni III/Kunisada (1786 - 1864)

Image Size - 10" x 15 1/8" + margins as shown

Condition - With excellent color and detail. A few small holes repaired from reverse. Some light toning at edges. A few light spots. Please see photos for details. Good overlal.
