One Hundred Views of Mt. Fuji - Beautiful design from Hokusai's "One Hundred Views of Mt. Fuji." Following the success of his masterwork "Thirty-six Views of Mt. Fuji," Hokusai began this wonderful series of one hundred black and white prints in 1834. Devoted to the sacred Mt. Fuji, each image reflects the importance of Fuji in the everyday lives of the Japanese during the Edo era, and demonstrates Hokusai's incredible draftsmanship and compositional skill. From land and sea, in summer and winter, viewed through an open window and in the reflection of the water, Fuji appears majestic, with an appealing sense of permanence. These dynamic Hokusai prints are a terrific choice to collect or display. 

A Special Ukiyo-e Group -   Terrific woodblock print from a group of ukiyo-e designs originally sold by Hara Shobo of Tokyo. The venerable print dealer Hara Shobo has been in business for more than seventy years. Each design comes with a small label from the dealer identifying the artist and subject. A great opportunity to purchase a classic ukiyo-e subject by a master artist with an interesting provenance.

Condition - With excellent color and detail. Lightly toned and backed with thin paper. Minor spotting throughout. Slight rubbing, soiling and staining in margins. A few small pin point holes along left margin, repaired with backing. Please see photos for details. Good overall.
