Original Toyokuni III/Kunisada (1786 - 1864) Japanese Woodblock Print
The Geisha Tomimoto Kakemono, circa 1830 - 1844

Comments - Lovely kakemono or vertical diptych of the geisha Tomimoto out for a stroll. She looks back over her shoulder with an expression of interest, her mouth slightly agape. She wears a blue dotted kimono bordered with snow-covered leaves and berries, over a red under robe, tied with a black obi that reverses to a bamboo print. She clutches her sleeve to her chest, lifting the hem of her robe with her other hand, and chunky wooden geta sandals with furry straps. An attractive beauty portrait and a nice choice for display.

Artist - Toyokuni III/Kunisada (1786 - 1864)

Image Size - 9 1/2" x 28 1/2"

Condition - With excellent color and detail. Two separate panels. A couple light creases. Some minor wrinkles. A few small holes repaired from reverse. Slightly toned. Please see photos for details. Nice overall.
