Viewing the Moon

Comments - Lovely scene of a beauties and a young girl viewing the moon in a garden. One of the women sits on a ceramic stool at right, her companion gently resting her hand on her shoulder. In the center the girl gestures to the pond where a woman poles a boat with two passengers across the water. The full moon glows above a waterfall rushing over the hill at left, casting yellow reflections on the gently rippling water below. An attractive subject with fine bokashi shading in the silhouetted trees along the horizon

Artist - Nobukazu (1874 - 1944)

Image Size - 14" x 27 1/2" + margins

Condition - With excellent color and detail. Three panels not attached at the seams and backed with thin paper. Minor spotting and ink offsetting present in all three panels. A few small holes and one loss in center panel, all repaired from reverse with backing paper. One vertical crease and a couple areas of staining in center panel. Lightly toned along edges with some faint spotting in subject. Please see photos for details. Good overall.
