Original Toyokuni III/Kunisada (1786 - 1864) Japanese Woodblock Print
Man Drying His Neck, 1847 - 1852

Comments - Handsome kabuki portrait of a man drying his neck with a blue towel after a bath. He wears an informal gray and white kimono patterned with large blossoms, tied with a red tie-dyed obi. He looks down with interest at a large wicker basket resting on the floor with a folded paper atop it, a red wooden pail nearby. Nicely detailed.

Artist - Toyokuni III/Kunisada (1786 - 1864)

Image Size - 14 1/2" x 9 7/8" + margins

Condition - With excellent color and detail. Light toning and staining along left and right edges of print. A few small holes in subject, repaired from reverse. Slight wrinkling throughout with a couple areas of thinning in subject. Please see photos for details. Good overall.
