6 mm Watanabe Reprint - This beautiful woodblock was published by the Watanabe Company and bears the important Watanabe round 6 mm seal. These old Watanabe prints are some of the finest woodblock reprints ever done. Watanabe began using the 6 mm seal after World War II ended, and it was in use from 1946 to 1957. These terrific Watanabe reprints are a wonderful way to collect a masterwork from the Edo era at an affordable price.

Comments - Terrific view of a horse-drawn streetcar traveling along the tracks towards the Nihonbashi Bridge in Tokyo. A few passengers can be seen seated inside as the team of horses gallops along the street. In the foreground, a rickshaw pulled by two men passes in the opposite direction, carrying a woman with an umbrella. At left, men stop to read a notice board in front of a modern two-story stone building, with telegraph lines running overhead. An interesting view of the city's rapid modernization during the Meiji era, with vibrant color and fine bokashi shading in the sky.
