Beautiful Meiji Era printing

100 Famous Views of Edo - In 1856, Hiroshige began designing what was to be his last great series and a masterpiece - 100 Famous Views of Edo. Each print from this series was a classic Hiroshige landscape work, taking advantage of the vertical format to capture a slice of life from Edo in dramatic and interesting ways. The series was very popular with the public and new releases were eagerly anticipated over the time that Hiroshige released the designs. Beautifully colored and finely printed, our prints from this series are a nice opportunity to collect these 19th century landscape images.

This lovely print is from a beautiful Meiji era printing produced in the early 20th century. Reprints of this quality and age are very rare and hard to come across. Bid or buy now before these exquisite prints are sold out!

Kiyomizu Hall and Shinobazu Pond at Ueno - Beautiful Hiroshige print depicting Kiyomizu Hall in Ueno Park overlooking Shinobazu Pond. The hall, part of a temple complex, is surrounded by cherry blossoms in bloom, with visitors on the verandah enjoying the view. The unusual pine tree at left with the looped branch is known as the "Moon Pine." Lovely color and detail in this attractive spring scene.

Condition - With excellent color and detail. A few stains and light spotting. in margins. Light toning at top and bottom right corner. Faint soiling and a couple small tears along edges. Please see photos for details. Nice overall.
