Beauty Reading a Letter - Attractive portrait of a beauty in private quarters reading a letter, pausing to look back over her shoulder as she unrolls the paper across her lap. She wears a purple robe patterned with colorful circles enclosing writing, her hair pulled back into a curving topknot tied with a white ribbon and adorned with a comb and hairpin. A fine kimono shaded from blue to white to pink with a design of falling maple leaves over flowing water hangs from an elegant black lacquer stand at right. Nicely detailed with soft shading and delicate embossing pattern in the roll of paper.
