Sumo Wrestlers Arguing

Comments - Terrific kabuki portrait of two sum wrestlers arguing. At left, the young sumo wrestler Hanaregoma Chokichi smashes a ceramic cup in anger after learning that his fellow wrestler Nuregami Chogoro purposely lost a match to him as a favor to his patron. The floor is scattered with broken shards as the wrestler grimaces angrily at Chogoro, gripping a black robe draped over one shoulder. Chogoro stares back at him, his mouth agape and his hands thrown out at his side as he tries to explain his position. His yellow-green kimono is patterned with stylized butterflies and bamboo, worn over a red under robe and tied with a black print obi and twisted red sash. A great design with the bulking figures nicely filling the page, and text above.
