Rows of troops stand at attention as generals ride past on horseback to examine them. A brass band plays at right, and cannons are lined up at left in front of cavalry troops. White tents are pitched in the center, with the rooftops of the city beyond and Mt. Fuji rising against a deep red sky at left. An intriguing image of Meiji era Japan, nicely detailed with vibrant color.
