Yamashiro, Snow at Fushimi, Lady Tokiwa, Otowaka, Ushiwaka, and Imawaka, No. 3 - Lovely woodblock print of the lovely Lady Tokiwa and her three sons escaping through the snow from Kyoto to nearby Fushimi after her husband Minamoto no Yoshitomo was murdered. She holds her infant son to her chest, and a hat over one son's head, as he blows on his hands to keep warm. The inset above shows an actor, most likely in the role of Taira no Kiyomori, who forced Lady Tokiwa to become his paramour. A beautiful print with lovely detail, including a dusting of shimmering mica in the dark background of the inset.
