Ichikawa Ichijuro as Kyo Kiyoshi

Comments - Attractive kabuki scene of Ichikawa Ichijuro as Kyo Kiyoshi, shown traveling across a waterway on a raft or large palanquin. He looks up with a dismayed expression, his mouth agape, as he holds a striped robe in his hand. Crates tied with rope are piled about him, and his pipe case and tobacco pouch are tied to the pole overhead next to a cloth-wrapped bundle. The water flows swiftly behind him along a stone wall, with a bucket hanging at upper left. A nice expressive figure in an interesting setting.
