Beauties in a Garden

Comments - Attractive image of two beauties in a garden in spring. The woman at right wears a blue kimono patterned with blossoms, a parcel wrapped in red cloth tucked under on arm. Her companion crouches behind her, looking up with a slight smile. Her black robe features a subtle burnished check along with blue flowers and green leaves. Behind them, a woman strolls across a bridge over a pond, with blossoming cherry trees dotting the low hills beyond. A charming design.

Artist - Kuniteru II (1829 - 1874)

Image Size - 14" x 9 5/8" + margins

Condition - With excellent color and detail. Lightly creased throughout with one small stain near bottom right-hand corner. Slight fraying and tearing along edges with some light soiling in subject and margins. A couple small holes repaired from reverse. Please see photos for details. Nice overall.
