Children Opening Gifts

Comments - Interesting scene of two seated children with an open gift on the floor between them. The girl smiles, shyly holding her kimono sleeve to her chin, while the holds a folding fan in his lap. An ornate lacquer box with a letter and a flute rests on top of a piece of purple cloth on the ground, with a small potted wisteria plant at left and a ship with a dragon prow and purple sail behind them. Mt. Fuji rises in the distance, filling the background. An unusual subject with lively color.
