Battle at Komakiyama

Comments - Dramatic scene from the Battle of Komaki on Mt. Komaki between the forces of Toyotomi Hideyoshi and Tokugawa Ieyasu. At left, two warriors on horseback clash spears, the brown horse rearing on its hind legs as another samurai tumbles beneath its hooves. The rider glares down with a determined expression, the tails of his red and white vest fluttering in the air. Behind him at right, two men rush forward to attack, one gripping a sword above his head and the other striking at the horse with his spear. On either side of the scene, generals on horseback direct their troops with tasseled command batons. A lively image with wonderful detail and vibrant color.
