Series; Shaku Goichidaiki Zue (Pictorial History of Shakyamuni), 1845

A Special Ukiyo-e Group -   Terrific woodblock print from a group of ukiyo-e designs originally sold by Hara Shobo of Tokyo. The venerable print dealer Hara Shobo has been in business for more than seventy years. Each design comes with a small label from the dealer identifying the artist and subject. A great opportunity to purchase a classic ukiyo-e subject by a master artist with an interesting provenance.

Artist - Hokusai (1760 - 1849)

Image Size - 8 1/8" x 5 7/8" + margins

Condition - With excellent color and detail. Lightly toned with some slight thinning in margins. A couple minor tears on either side of print, repaired from reverse. Slight spotting I subject and margins. Please see photos for details. Good overall.
