47 Ronin, Act 1 - Handsome scene from the kabuki play "Kanadehon Chushingura," the popular drama based on the true story of the 47 ronin. These wonderfully detailed images capture famous moments from this classic tale, from the quarrel in the palace to the villain Sadakuro stalking the elderly Yoichibei along the lonely Yamazaki Highway at night, with expressive figures and nicely rendered settings. A terrific selection of designs from this rarely seen series by Fusatane.

Condition - With excellent detail as shown. Slight paper remnants on reverse at edges from previous folio mounting. A few small holes or small losses at edges. Toning and soiling, a few prints have staining. Please see photos for a sense of individual condition.
