Iwai Kumesaburo III as Yokogushi Otomi, 1860

Comments - Handsome kabuki scene featuring Iwai Kumesaburo III as the beauty Yokogushi Otomi in the play commonly known as "Kirare Yosa." She kneels on the floor beside a tobacco set with a slender pipe in hand, looking back over her shoulder with a grin, a small comb slipping loose from the side of her hair. She wears a geometric print blue and gray kimono tied with an olive green obi, a blue and white towel draped over her shoulder. Two large wooden tubs can be seen at upper right beneath a lantern hanging from the wall. An interesting design with a nicely detailed setting.

Artist - Toyokuni III/Kunisada (1786 - 1864)

Image Size - 9 3/4" x 14 1/8"

Condition - With excellent color and detail. Some rubbing and soiling at edges. A couple light creases. A few small holes repaired from reverse. Please see photos for details. Good overall.
