Bando Mitsugoro III as Shirafuji Genta, circa 1831 - Handsome kabuki portrait of Bando Mitsugoro III as the sumo wrestler Shirafuji Genta. He scowls unhappily as he stares ahead, his arms folded firmly across his chest. He wears a gray kimono patterned with intricate white leaves, a folded towel tossed across his shoulders. The actor is presented as the reflection in an elegant lacquer mirror draped with pieces of cloth. Nice fine line work in the hair.

Image Size - 10 1/8" x 14 5/8"

Condition - With excellent color and detail. Some rubbing, soiling and toning at edges. Some spotting and staining in subject. A number of creases and wrinkles in subject. A couple small holes repaired from reverse. Please see photos for details. Good overall.
