Adachi was one of the most respected publishers of the 20th century. Their woodblocks were printed to the highest standards with excellent color and fine detail. Founded in 1925, Adachi also chose interesting and varied subjects for their prints and was the only publisher of many famous old ukiyo-e images.

Comments - Attractive image of beauties enjoying a summer afternoon in the Yoshiwara. A beauty leans over the verandah railing, looking down at the street below. The woman next to her wears a sheer black silk kimono, the outline of her body visible through the gauzy fabric. Behind them a beauty hangs a kimono over a line to dry, and a shamisen can be seen leaning against the wall inside. A beautiful Edo era subject with soft color.
