Nakamura Fukusuke as Yamaguchi Tomoe Ofuku, 1885 - Wonderful image of the kabuki actor Nakamura Fukusuke in his backstage dressing room in the role of Yamaguchi Tomoe Ofuku. She looks over her shoulder with a slender pipe in her hand, her hair pulled back into a knot adorned with a few hairpins and a small comb, which is slipping loose at the side. The figure is shown in front of a large red lacquer mirror, with a background of large characters. A great portrait from this rarely seen series, nicely detailed with fine line work in the hair.
