Yui: Satta Pass and Kurasawa Station

Series; Fifty-three Stations of the Tokaido (Kichizo Tokaido)

Miniature Kichizo Tokaido Reprints - During his lifetime, Hiroshige created many different versions of his popular "Fifty-three Stations of the Tokaido" series. The Kichizo Tokaido series takes its name from the original publisher, Tsutaya Kichizo. Hiroshige created a total of 54 chuban-sized images for this series, rather than the usual 55. The stations of Shimada and Kanaya were combined into one design to produce an even number of pages for printing. These miniature or postcard size reprints are incredibly detailed, demonstrating amazing carving and printing skills, and show the same attention to detail as full size works, including fine bokashi shading. These small treasures are fun to collect and display, and are an interesting complement to Hiroshige's more well-known Tokaido series.

Artist - Hiroshige (1797 - 1858)

Image Size - 3 1/2" x 5 1/2"

Condition - With excellent color and detail as shown. Faint toning, slight creasing. Please see photos for details. Good overall.
