Farmer in Kyoto

From the Uchida Publisher Archives - We were fortunate to purchase a wonderful collection of 20th century prints directly from the archives of the Uchida Art Company of Kyoto. The classic 20th century prints offered in our auction from this collection are all first edition prints of various designs released by the Uchida company in the mid-20th century. These first edition prints are unusual to come by in a nice group as they were generally sold off as they were produced. This excellent collection was held back and recently sold from the Uchida archives. These prints are a nice opportunity to collect a lovely 20th century print, or perfect as reasonably priced gifts. Don't miss out on these prints, once they sell out, we won't have them again!

Comments - Terrific portrait of a farmer working in the fields outside Kyoto. He wears a black and white patterned kimono tucked into dark blue pants, tied with a red obi. He wears a straw hat over a white head scarf, and has black cloth covers over his wrists. The rich brown earth and greenery of the plants provides a colorful anchor for the figure. A handsome modern design with simplified, bold outlines.

Artist - Eiichi Kotozuka (1906 - 1979)

Image Size - 15 3/4" x 10 1/2" + margins as shown

Condition - With excellent color and detail as shown. A few faint creases at edges. Please see photos for details. Nice overall.
