Series; Female Poetic Immortals in the Modern Style, a Set of Thirty-six

Sugatano of the Sugata-Ebiya - Beautiful image of the courtesan kneeling Sugatano of the Sugata-on the floor and reading a poem slip. She rests her chin on her hand as she looks down at the message, a slight smile on her lips. She wears layers of beautiful kimono, the fabric flowing around her. Beautiful detail in the sumptuous fabrics and expressive face. Handsome embossing in the white kimono collar and title cartouche. A lovely classic Edo era subject.

Artist - Shikimaro (active circa 1810s)

Image Size - 14 3/4" x 10 1/8" + margins as shown

Condition - With excellent color and detail as shown. Slight paper remnants on reverse at left edge from previous folio mounting. Faint toning, slight soiling along upper edge, a few creases at edges. Please see photos for details. Good overall.
