Oda Nobunaga Finds Saito Tosan Laughing at Him - Interesting scene of the great leader Oda Nobunaga on horseback during a procession. His wife, Nohime, was the daughter of the daimyo Saito Tosan, and their marriage was a political alliance, but Nobunaga would eventually conquer the Saito Clan. Here, he pauses outside a house, gesturing angrily at the home where Saito sits in inside, laughing at him. Nobunaga wears a red kimono patterned with mushrooms, and tiger skin chaps, an attendant shielding him with a red umbrella. The villagers kneel respectfully along the side of the road, paying honor to the great warrior. A row of retainers dressed in matching attire follows along behind him, each carrying a tall standard covered with red cloth. An intriguing subject, wonderfully detailed.
