Beautiful Meiji Era printing

100 Famous Views of Edo - In 1856, Hiroshige began designing what was to be his last great series and a masterpiece - 100 Famous Views of Edo. Each print from this series was a classic Hiroshige landscape work, taking advantage of the vertical format to capture a slice of life from Edo in dramatic and interesting ways. The series was very popular with the public and new releases were eagerly anticipated over the time that Hiroshige released the designs. Beautifully colored and finely printed, our prints from this series are a nice opportunity to collect these 19th century landscape images.

This lovely print is from a beautiful Meiji era printing produced in the early 20th century. Reprints of this quality and age are very rare and hard to come across. Bid or buy now before these exquisite prints are sold out!

Night View of Saruwaka-machi - Terrific night view of the Saruwaka-machi theater district, the street bustling with pedestrians and vendors. Tea shops and kabuki theaters line the street, the theater entrances identifiable by the boxed turrets above the rooftop. A full moon glows high in the evening sky, casting pale shadows of the people below. A beautifully detailed and shaded Edo era subject.
