Zojoji Temple in Snow, 1929

Two figures on the impressive temple grounds and a dog following on the path. A heavy snow has fallen over the scene and the red temple stands in contrast to the white snow- lovely. The scene is a classic Hasui and a shin-hanga masterpiece. The architectural elements and natural setting combine for a successful composition, among the very best Hasui snow scenes.
