The Shoeiro Restaurant in the Karasumori District - Charming image of two women in the Shoeiro Restaurant in the Karasumori District of Tokyo. The beauty in the center leans forward eagerly, holding her hand out in a fist as she strikes a pose during a game called ken. Her companion kneels behind her quietly, holding a striped bottle of sake in a warmer. A large niche at right holds a yellow vase filled with blossoming plum branches and camellias. The detail of the interior space shows an interest in Western style perspective. An attractive image from this rarely seen series pairing beautiful women with famous restaurants.
