Beauty Tying an Obi Kakemono - Handsome kakemono or vertical diptych of a beauty tying a brown obi that reverses to a blue print around her waist. She smiles as she looks down, stretching the end of the sash out with one hand while she holds a loop behind her back. She wears an intricately patterned gray kimono with an allover flower design, trimmed with solid blue-gray fabric and a blue and white floral print. Her hair is pulled back into a smooth bun, adorned with decorative hairpins, a blue lacquer comb, and ribbons. At upper left, a length of folded fabric nestled in tissue paper appears next to the title cartouche. A lovely, classic Edo era beauty subject.

Image Size - 9 3/4" x 28 1/4"

Condition - With excellent color and detail. Two panels attached at the seams. Some rubbing and paper remnants at edges. Slightly toned as shown. A few spots. Some light soiling and a few small holes repaired from reverse. Please see photos for details.
