Comments - Beautiful triptych depicting elegantly dressed beauties enjoying an iris garden in summer. One woman stands on a narrow zigzag wooden walkway stretching across the pond, flanked by blossoming purple irises. A young girl at her side leans over excitedly as she watches a group of koi fish fighting over the rice cake she has just thrown to them. Water spills from a stone basin along the shore, flowing into the pond in gently rippling waves. At right, a beauty sits on the edge of a room overlooking the garden, smiling and chatting with a companion peering around a sliding shoji screen. A lovely natural setting with beautiful color and detail, and soft shading in the water.

Artist - Kuniyoshi (1797 - 1861)

Image Size - 29 3/8" x 14 3/8"

Condition - With excellent color and detail. Three separate panels. Some rubbing and soiling at edges. A few light creases and a few small holes repaired from reverse. A few light stains. Please see photos for details. Good overall.
