Shogo Okamoto - Lovely original etching on paper by Shogo Okamoto. Born in Tokyo in 1920, Okamoto graduated from Tokyo School of Fine Arts in 1943 with a degree in painting, and began concentrating on etchings in the 1960s. Trees proved his favorite subject, and his skillful compositions beautifully capture the interplay of branches in light and shadow. These charming modern works are wonderfully rendered with delicate line work and soft gradations in tone. Each limited edition print is pencil signed and numbered. A great choice for a collector interested in contemporary Japanese printmaking.
