Itinerant Musicians

Comments - Charming scene of two itinerant musicians playing by the side of a road. The standing man dances about on one foot as he strikes the cymbals tied around his waist on a belt. His companion plays a small drum, and coins donated by passersby are scattered over the straw mat he sits on. A few travelers have gathered to watch the performance at left. A wonderfully detailed picture of life on the road.

Artist - Hokusai (1760 - 1849)

Image Size - 6 3/8" x 4 5/8"

Condition - With excellent color and detail. A vertical crease at center. One small loss repaired from reverse. Some rubbing and soiling at edges. Slightly curled. Please see photos for details. Good overall.
