From the Taiheiki: Mt. Inaba

Comments - Fantastic battle scene from the epic tale "The Taiheiki" of troops in conflict on Mt. Inaba. At right, a warrior waves a standard made from woven straw mats attached to a pole, grimacing angrily as he leans forward. Just above him, a ray of light shoots across the night sky in a widening beam. At left, a bloody samurai on horseback wields an enormous iron club with one have as he looks back over his shoulder, his hair whipping around his face. Below his brown horse, two men seem to have been struck by the ray, tumbling backwards. In the center, a warrior watches from his white horse, leaning forward with a frown as a samurai flies head over heels before him, bleeding from a head wound. An intriguing image with expressive figures and lively detail and attractive color.
