Soldiers Boarding a Train during the Sino-Japanese War

Comments - Terrific scene of Meiji Imperial troops boarding a train during the Sino-Japanese War . The uniformed men climb onto flatbed cars enclosed with railings, the engine puffing out black clouds of steam as it waits. At right, one soldier hands guns up to a waiting soldier while the other men wait in line to board. Another train moves ahead down the tracks as an explosion sends a burst of orange flames and smoke into the air. A snow-covered pine tree frames the winter landscape. A fascinating composition and a great subject for a military historian or train enthusiast.
