Stopping at a Tea Stand

Comments - Handsome kabuki scene of men stopping at a tea stand. One fellow relaxes on a bench with a pipe, his sandal kicked off and his leg tucked up next to him. The man standing behind him smirks angrily as he looks ahead, wearing a black coat over a light brown plaid kimono. A waitress carries a tray of cups at left, a towel draped over her shoulder. In the background, a low fence surrounds a garden filled blossoms and rocks. Great color and expressive faces in this interesting subject.

Artist - Toyokuni I (1769 - 1825)

Image Size - 9 7/8" x 14 1/2"

Condition - With excellent color and detail. Backed with old paper. A few small holes and losses repaired from reverse. Some rubbing and soiling at edges. Please see photos for details. Good overall.
