Ome Shushiki - Attractive portrait of the poet Ome Shushiki (1668-1725) caught in a shower of falling cherry petal blossoms. She playfully raises her sleeve as the petals drift down over her, looking to the side, one arm resting atop a red lacquer railing. She wears a brown plaid kimono tied with a red tie-dyed obi, a blue and white towel wrapped over her shoulders. Her hair is pulled back into a smooth bun adorned with colorful floral ornaments and a red ribbon. A charming design, beautifully detailed with cloth embossing in the towel, and burnishing in the black kimono collar and railing trim.

Artist - Yoshitoshi (1839 - 1892)

Image Size - 14" x 9 1/2"

Condition - With excellent color and detail as shown. A few small wormholes, tear at lower left edge, repaired, blends well. Slight soiling and rubbing, a few creases. Please see photos for details. Good overall.
